" It feels great to finally have a chance to be the exact holistic person I looked up to as a child. Especially with this guidance which provides an invaluable opportunity to learn and grow.
At the end of my fellowship, I know I will be set on the right path to making continuous tangible change. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Umbrella for Children

Umbrella for children is a project focused on raising awareness among the youth for 3 main issues; student mental health and destigmatisation, antimicrobial resistance climate change awareness. This is through online workshops, social media posts and in person outreaches such as visiting primary and secondary schools or interviewing university students on campus.

About the Millennium Fellow

Grace Abigail Forson-Coleman is a 3rd year student at the University of Ghana studying Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology. While growing up, she was oblivious to the SDGs and the UN's role in making the world a better place. That is, until high school where she attended some GUNSA programs. It was there that her passions were realised to not just be passive dissatisfaction in the flawed systems within which she grew up - but a fire for activism. Even then, she still felt powerless to do anything against inequality and the decline of the environment. She joined a Millennium Fellowship program aimed at mentoring and making young girls' lives better in 2024 before finally taking a step to turn her little dream of impact into reality.
