Millennium Fellowship Project: Umbrellas for Children
Umbrella for children is a project focused on raising awareness among the youth for 3 main issues; student mental health and destigmatisation, antimicrobial resistance climate change awareness. This is through online workshops, social media posts and in person outreaches such as visiting primary and secondary schools or interviewing university students on campus.
About the Millennium Fellow
Hafsatu Zakari is passionate about learning new things and driven by a strong passion for sustainability especially transforming waste into valuable product. She has always taken an unconventional path leading her to pursue Political Science and Study of Religion in the University of Ghana. She is passionate about creating a world filled with peace and love, she advocates for global integration and promotes climate justice. In high school, she was the Assistant compound prefect, where she promoted a healthy school environment. Recently she was elected general secretary for the Religion Students Association of Ghana-UG Branch.Leadership to her is not just the talk but to walk the talk. Her goal is to find a field that combines her passion for sustainability and leadership.
