" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it lets me combine my love for finance, farming, and mental health into real change. I want to use data and technology to help farmers grow their businesses while also supporting mental wellness in our communities. This is my chance to learn, connect with others, and turn ideas into action "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Hope Rises
Project Name:Hope Rises
Hope Rises is a suicide prevention advocacy project by Millennium Fellow Kennedy Ofori Sarkwah and Millennium Fellow Rosemary Sarpongmaa Osei-Agyei. The project aims to empower young people in Ghana to prioritize mental health and well-being. Through awareness campaigns, workshops, and support networks, the project aims to create a supportive community that encourages open conversations and promotes help-seeking behavior. As a Millennium Fellows, We will engage with approximately 400 young people, providing them with knowledge, skills, and resources to support themselves and their peers.
During the fellowship period, Hope Rises will host workshops on mental health awareness and suicide prevention, establish a support network for young people struggling with mental health issues, and distribute educational materials on mental health and well-being. By achieving these goals, Hope Rises aims to make a positive impact on the mental health and well-being of young people in Ghana, contributing to a culture of openness and support.
Through this project, We hope to leverage our skills and experience to drive meaningful change and promote a brighter future for young people in Ghana. By working together, we can create a supportive environment that encourages young people to prioritize their mental health and well-being.
