United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Girl Child Advocate
The Girl Child Advocate is a project aligned with SDG 5: Gender Equality, aiming to enlighten pupils of a public school about opportunities available to them regardless of gender. The project also advances SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being through mental health tips and health promotion, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by highlighting career pathways.
The project targeted secondary school students in the local community, both boys and girls at early adolescence. It equipped them with knowledge necessary for critical decision-making. During the school’s Career Day, we campaigned on career choices irrespective of gender or class, discussed sexual awareness, and introduced core soft skills such as communication, mutual respect, and competence. The project successfully achieved its goals in alignment with Career Day activities, and the placards and pamphlets distributed are expected to have a lasting impact on the students.
About the Millennium Fellow
Mary-Judith Ezeigbo is a hard-working medical student in the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Mary-Judith is dedicated to educating and inspiring young minds. She is currently in her fifth year of her training. She is harnessing strong leadership qualities, seeking experiences in various spheres of life to become an all-rounder. She looks forward to creating a lasting change in her society through her project.
