" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because of the valuable platform it offers to enhance my leadership skills and think creatively in solving problems within my community. I believe that meaningful change in my country requires the emergence of great thinkers. I aspire to be one of them and, through leadership, inspire and nurture as many others as possible. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Future Map Initiative

The Future Map Initiative is a project that stemmed from the gap I have noticed in the education system in Nigeria. A lot of students become educated because they believe it is solely a way out of poverty but are shocked with the reality after graduation. The government has little provision for the vast number of graduates yearly and so most of them venture into other business and the purpose of being educated end up being defeated. The dream behind this project is to develop a mentorship program for secondary school students that will help them understand different career pathways and help them make best decisions. The project will also provide skills like critical thinking, time management, entrepreneurship, creativity, and other skills like graphics designing, data analysis and many more so they can earn even as they pursue their undergraduate studies. This will make them more focused on learning and prepare them better for the future. In summary, the project will focus on career guidance, skill development and mentorship. I plan to also incorporate Artificial Intelligence for career matching and online courses.
