" Experiencing something deeply can ignite a genuine and powerful passion, one that flows from personal understanding and heartfelt connection.
I am passionate about addressing period shame not only because I have witnessed it, but also because I have personally experienced it. Being part of the Millennium Campus Fellowship means one thing to me: "my advocacy on this issue will be taken more seriously". I hope to use the skills and networks I gain through the fellowship to create meaningful social impact, empowering girls across the nation and fostering a society where menstruation is understood, accepted, and free from stigma. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Oral Health, Key to Wellness

This Millennium Project focused on ORAL HEALTH AWARENESS and the importance of proper dental care for overall well-being. Activities included educating students about correct brushing techniques, the need for regular dental check-ups, and the dangers of poor oral hygiene. Posters were displayed to promote healthy practices such as reducing sugary foods and maintaining daily oral care routines.
The project helped improve awareness and encouraged healthier habits for better oral and general health.

About the Millennium Fellow

Opemiposi Temiloluwa Fadipe is a young dedicated medical student (dentistry and dental surgery) in the University of Ibadan. She was born in Ekiti state, Nigeria and currently resides in Nigeria. Opemiposi is someone whose compassion extends beyond the hospital walls. She is deeply passionate about the girl child, paying particular attention to the issues, challenges, and pressures she constantly faces—especially those related to period shame. She hopes to use her position as a Millennium Fellow to shine a light on these issues and advocate for greater societal acceptance. Her vision is to spark change, one girl at a time—normalizing conversations about menstruation and empowering girls to embrace their identity with confidence and pride hence the slogan "Normalizing periods, Empowering girls ".
