" Passion for equity and the belief that empowered girls transform societies fuel my journey. I see the Millennium Fellowship as a platform to deepen my impact through collaboration, innovation, and service rooted in the SDGs and aligned with the principles of UNAI. I am eager to bring my voice, creativity, and commitment to building solutions that not only address immediate needs but also inspire lasting change "
Millennium Fellowship Project: The Girl child Advocate Initiative
The project focused on empowering young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to support their holistic development. Through interactive sessions, open discussions, and hands-on engagement, we created a safe and supportive space where youths could learn, ask questions, and build self-worth.
Our activities addressed essential areas such as self-awareness, body confidence, mental health, skill acquisition, and career development. We guided students to understand their bodies, manage emotions, make informed decisions, and explore future opportunities. We also introduced basic skill-building concepts that support long-term growth, creativity, and economic empowerment.
The project strongly advances key Sustainable Development Goals, including:
SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being (mental health awareness, body education, healthy decision-making),
SDG 4 – Quality Education (knowledge sharing, mentorship, and life-skills learning),
SDG 5 – Gender Equality (promoting equal confidence, awareness, and opportunities for both boys and girls),
SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth (through skill acquisition and early career guidance).
Overall, this initiative inspires young people to dare to dream beyond their environment, embrace their potential, and develop the mindset and practical skills needed to thrive academically, socially, and professionally.
