" I believe that healing and self-discovery begin with open dialogue and shared knowledge. Through my project, I aspire to host mental health experts and create spaces where people can explore topics of healing and growth. Being a Millennium Fellow will empower me to amplify this vision, transforming awareness into impact and aligning my work with the SDGs by fostering well-being, resilience, and hope in my community "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Roots & Wings

Roots & Wings is a student-led movement at UM6P founded during the Millennium Fellowship to empower youth through dialogue, reflection, and meaningful action.
Each month, the project explores a social or environmental theme through workshops, debates, and podcast episodes, creating a safe space for students to express themselves, engage critically, and initiate change.
By connecting awareness with action, Roots & Wings aims to build a new generation of conscious, collaborative, and impactful change makers.

About the Millennium Fellow

My name is Samiya El Khalouki, a student at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in nursing class . Beyond my academic journey, I carry a deep passion for writing it is my safe space, my way of transforming thoughts and emotions into words that inspire. I am also deeply interested in personal development, as I believe that growth is a lifelong process that allows us to become better versions of ourselves and to empower those around us.
Through my writing and my curiosity for knowledge, I seek not only to learn, but also to share — to spark reflection, to give hope, and to contribute to meaningful change in my community and beyond.
