" The Millennium Fellowship program is like a launchpad. It will provide me with mentorship, exposure, critical thinking and a number of practical skills. These skills will in turn empower me for the local, national and global projects that I will embark on that will shape the sustainable future of tomorrow. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Learn Climate Terms With Chisom Anita
Learn Climate Terms With Chisom Anita is an educational initiative aimed at fostering climate change education and raising awareness on mitigation strategies. The simple goal is to break down climate terminologies to the common man, as climate change is a global issue that affects every single person on this planet. I believe that no one should be left behind just because he or she does not understand the basic terms.
About the Millennium Fellow
Chukwusom Anita is a passionate, dynamic, and purpose-driven law student at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (Enugu Campus), with a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, energy law, and social impact. Born and raised in Nigeria, Chukwusom has grown into a multifaceted leader whose advocacy spans climate action, legal development, and community service.
As the Vice President of The Greener Picture, she leads initiatives that promote environmental awareness and action within her campus and beyond. She is also the founder of #LearnClimateTermsWithChisomAnita, an educational platform dedicated to climate change awareness, environmental literacy, and practical mitigation strategies. Her dedication to a more sustainable earth is matched by her deep interest in energy and environmental law, where she seeks to drive policy and legal reforms that support a greener future.
Beyond environmental advocacy, Chisom is actively involved in legal research, advocacy, litigation practice, and corporate law. She holds leadership positions such as Administrative Director of the Energy Law Society and the Director of Junior Associates Affairs in her student chambers. She has represented her university in moot competitions, client counseling, corporate presentations, and legal debates, often emerging victorious.
Through her diverse experiences, Chisom has developed strong skills in leadership, public relations, and legal writing. She aspires to a professional career at the intersection of law, sustainability, and corporate governance, contributing to the advancement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals- particularly those focused on affordable and clean energy, climate action, and sustainable communities.
With a vision to influence policy, educate communities, and inspire action, Chukwusom is steadily building the expertise and networks necessary to make a lasting impact on both the legal and environmental sectors.
