United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

With the activities and knowledge l will gain from being a Millennium Fellow, Lives will be impacted where all persons in the society gain from a more healthy society which may have been prevented due to the hygiene of the environment. I believe that in line with the UNAI principles and Sustainable development goals, lives will really be impacted. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION

This project focuses on promoting environmental sanitation and hygiene within the campus community. It aims to provide tools and equipment to help students maintain cleanliness, as well as organize sensitization programs in hostels, departments, faculties, and offices to educate both staff and students about the dangers of poor sanitation. The project successfully taught young women the fundamentals and importance of environmental hygiene, helping them understand how basic practices contribute to a healthier campus

About the Millennium Fellow

NAOMI ONYEKACHI EKECHI is an Accountancy student of University of Nigeria Enugu Campus. She was born and raised in Lagos State, Nigeria and attended Federal Government Girls College SAGAMU, Ogun State, Nigeria. Naomi has always been passionate about environmental sanitation and that is the major reason why she has always advocated for sanitation right from the days of her secondary education and she was made the House captain of the hostel to facilitate the environment cleanliness. She has always had the passion for cleanliness of the environment which leads to healthy living and has supervised cleaning processes around her little hostel environment in the University. Naomi has always seeked for ways to help the society by fulfilling the sustainable development goal 6 and seeking for opportunities to impact lives.
