Millennium Fellowship Project: BUDGET & BEYOND

Budget & Beyond is a youth-centered financial literacy initiative designed to equip young Nigerians with practical knowledge and skills for managing their personal finances. Many students and young adults struggle with budgeting, saving, understanding taxes, and recognizing financial scams, largely due to the absence of accessible financial education in schools. This project aims to close that gap by offering clear, easy -to-understand online learning sessions.
Through two structured webinars, Budget & Beyond introduces participants to essential financial concepts such as needs versus wants, building a personal budget, handling irregular income, setting financial goals, and using banking tools like fixed deposits. The project also explores more advanced topics including the basics of Nigerian taxation, debt management, and identifying common investment scams. Each session incorporates interactive elements such as Q&A, scenario-based learning, and practical exercises to ensure participants not only understand the material but can apply it in real life.
The long-term goal of Budget & Beyond is to empower young Nigerians to make informed, confident, and responsible financial decisions that contribute to personal stability and sustainable economic growth.
