" I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it gives me the chance to learn, grow, and make a real difference in my community. I care about this work because I've seen how lack of support can hold students back, and I want to be part of helping them realize their potential. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: EmpowerED Initiative
EmpowerEd Initiative is a project that focuses on helping students build confidence and rediscover the joy of learning. I started this project after noticing how many bright students struggle, not because they lack ability, but because they lack guidance, encouragement, and support. Through school visits, mentorship conversations, and awareness programs, EmpowerEd Initiative seeks to remind students that education is not just about passing exams but about believing in their own potential.
The project creates a space where students feel seen, heard, and motivated to keep going even when learning feels difficult. EmpowerEd Initiative aims to build a network of young minds who are confident, curious, and committed to using education as a tool for change in their communities.
About the Millennium Fellow
Cynthia Osose Osas is an undergraduate pharmacy student at the University of Benin, Ugbowo Campus, Nigeria. She is passionate about education and giving young people the support they need to succeed. Cynthia first developed this interest after helping classmates and younger students who struggled with their studies, and she saw how much confidence they gained from just a little encouragement. Beyond academics, she enjoys learning new skills, exploring personal development, and finding ways to connect with people. She believes strongly in empathy, humility, and using her voice to inspire change in her community.
