" Being in a system, surrounded by likeminds, goes beyond a support structure, for me it inspires and fuels my commitment more.
This is an opportunity the Millennium Fellowship affords. It'll serve beyond bring a strengthening system, but a ground of learning and growth. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Arts to Hearts

I've been conducting some online researches, to learn how I can effectively carry out an Arts outreach in the hospital, within my community. I'm a medical student and have seen firsthand, the struggles that sick people go through. I believe Arts can be a great tool, in birthing happiness and aiding their healing journey. I do hope to carry out and outreach, where the world of Art and Health, are intertwined, to create beneficial and well harmonised mix. This will help address not just aiding their healing journey, but the mental burden, that comes with being sick.

About the Millennium Fellow

Gladness Wada, is a versatile and vibrant young lady, whose dream for a world- illuminated with compassion, has always been her driving force.
She believes that little actions towards positive change, could have far reaching effects than imagined.
She is currently a fifth-year student of Medicine and Surgery, in the University of Benin, training to be properly equipped with the skills, required to help pursue her passion.
Outside Medicine, she is keenly interested in Arts, as well as Mathematics and technology. She has
begun seeking ways, to merge these fields to create an harmonised mix, that'll revolutionise the practice of healthcare, not just in her immediate community, but to the larger society eventually.
She has been a part of several community outreaches, bringing healthcare closer to underserved communities. She has also coached some students struggling with Mathematics, helping them become more confident in their abilities.
