" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it provides a platform to transform my passion for equitable healthcare into scalable impact, using science, innovation, and advocacy to serve communities that need it most. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Pad a girl child initiative
Pad a Girl Child Initiative was a compassionate outreach project carried out at Federal Government Girls College, Benin City, with the goal of supporting young girls through menstrual education and access to hygiene products. Together with a dedicated team, we reached out to students in JSS2 and JSS3, distributing over 250 sanitary pads and engaging them in an open, educative discussion about menstrual health. The session created a safe space for the girls to ask questions, share experiences, and gain confidence about their bodies. Our focus was to promote awareness, break menstrual stigma, and remind every girl that her period should never limit her potential. Working with my team members made the experience even more impactful, as we shared a common passion for change and empowerment.
