United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: ACTION AGAINST DRUG ABUSE (AADA): BREAKING ADDICTION

Drug Abuse which is one of the deeply rooted problems of my society and has led to various societal crisis such as insecurity, poverty and degrading health, the Action Against Drug Abuse ( AADA): Breaking the Chain of Addiction: is an initiative founded to enlighten youths and young adults of the harmful effects of drug abuse, their causes as well as it's prevention .It is also aimed at educating youths on ways in which they can abstain from hard drugs by enlightening them on better opportunities around them while also encouraging them to be an agent of Change and take part in healthy activities that will help build their future. During the Course of this Project I was able to carry out four outreaches at various Locations to educate them on the dangers of drug abuse while also interacting with these individuals and answering their various questions.

About the Millennium Fellow

Williams Osaro Joy is a passionate, dedicated, innovative and goal-driven student nurse currently undergoing her undergraduate degree programme at the University of Benin. She was born in Nigeria and has a deep love for providing holistic care to it's citizen. Osaro has always been passionate in her advocacy for promoting good health and in addressing issues related to poverty. She believes that through proper guidance and reformation the younger generation will have better opportunities to attain maximum health and wellbeing. She will leverage the Millennium Fellowship to develop leadership abilities that fuel her vision for sustainable national development.
