Millennium Fellowship Project: LEAD HEALTH INITIATIVE
During my time undergoing a health Course, I discovered that the root cause of a lot of health challenges ranging from Substance Use to Chronic diseases is MISINFORMATION, belief in MYTHS and IGNORANCE. Lead Health Initiative is a youth-driven project that stems from the desire to see different age groups but especially the youth become proactive in terms of health by creating health awareness, challenge long existent myths and evoke positive action to the end that individuals are in good health. The project targets primarily young people -the students of the university community, extending to other strata within the university and the world at large. It aims at providing concrete health information to everyone especially those that do not have access to it and provide strategies that aim to replace unhealthy practices and lifestyle with much healthier ones. By utilizing the social media space, collaborations with institutions within the university - ISPOR HEOR, PANS Public Health Team, ADMAP UNN, outreaches and at large programs this project achieves its goal and a broader impact. This project aims to reduce the after effect of unhealthy lifestyles and greatly reduce the global burden of disease.
