" The Millennium Fellowship gives me the opportunity to work with young leaders who are as passionate about creating a better world as I am, which is why I am excited about it. I see it as a chance to acquire useful skills and new insights that will enable me to lead initiatives centered on social justice, a safe and clean environment, and my community's access to clean water. I am prepared to use my abilities in problem-solving, collaboration, flexibility, and clear communication, as well as my dedication to honesty and hard work, to contribute my ideas and energy to this fellowship in order to bring about long-lasting change. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Open Source Nest

Open Source Nest is an initiative that
empowers everyday people, especially
those in underserved communities, to
engage in open source. Through
hands-on learning, mentorship, and
practical contribution opportunities,
we break down barriers and demystify open source, enabling more people to
use, build, contribute, and grow in open technology and Digital Public Goods (DPGs).
From August to December 2025, we will run a campaign of workshops, outreaches, social media posts, and physical events, including a contribute-a-thon. Our goal is to reach 300+ people, teaching and onboarding contributors and users to open source. We aim to make open source more accessible, especially to those who have previously felt excluded.
