" My colleagues in the faculty got into Millennium Fellowship and they posted it on LinkedIn. I saw the story and I knew that was something I wanted too. To create impact and be in a change maker, one SDG at a time. I want to reach communities, educate children and youths and hopefully inspire others while at it. I also hope to build on my public speaking and advocacy skills in order to improve my social impact and increase competence. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Protect your Eyes Project

The name of this project is Protect your eyes. We aim to focus on SDG 3: Good health and wellbeing. Acknowledging that many diseases of the eye usually do not come with severe signs, we aim to educate people on the different diseases of the eye and also the sensitization of the importance of eye test and eye care. We plan to extend the sensitization to eye allergies. Basically, we want to ensure that people are educated enough to make informed decisions on their eyes, not to easily dismiss a symptom of an eye defect, disease or allergy. Our target audience are secondary school students of a community school. We understand that eye diseases progress with age so we want to ensure we impact then at the age where impact will be most felt.
