University of Jos | Jos, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 3 & UNAI 6

" I strongly believe in collaboration and teamwork and have seen how these two values can speed up the process of attaining a community with good health.
They say prevention is better than cure and I am inclined to agree with the phrase. It applies to health as well and that is why I preach about ensuring good physical and mental health. Millennium campus fellowship will aid my goal of educating the people around me and achieving good health one person at a time. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Cervical Cancer Awareness Campaign
The Cervical Cancer Awareness Campaign targets around 200 female students at the University of Jos and nearby areas, aiming to identify premalignant stages of cervical cancer and prevent their progression to malignancy, while encouraging regular testing for long-term control. Campaigns are being organized within the university, surrounding institutions, and communities across Plateau State, with plans to extend screening to older adults and provide vaccinations for children under nine. Through this initiative, we were able to enhance participants’ knowledge about cervical cancer and its causes and promote preventive practices among the women involved.
