" Talent and passion meeting with training and mentorship is what I envisage from this training, when the commitment I plan to put blends with the master training from MCN, I believe, I'll be forged into a better leader better equipped for global impact as I envisage. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Cervical Cancer Awareness Campaign

The Cervical Cancer Awareness Campaign targets around 200 female students at the University of Jos and nearby areas, aiming to identify premalignant stages of cervical cancer and prevent their progression to malignancy, while encouraging regular testing for long-term control. Campaigns are being organized within the university, surrounding institutions, and communities across Plateau State, with plans to extend screening to older adults and provide vaccinations for children under nine. Through this initiative, we were able to enhance participants’ knowledge about cervical cancer and its causes and promote preventive practices among the women involved.

About the Millennium Fellow

Koptung Nantok Kefas, a final year medical student, the student union government Director of health and the speaker of the Jos University Medical Students Associations parliament at the University of Jos. He is a young vibrant man that's pursuing purpose with an unquenchable inferno fired by his passion to save lives through the tolls of medicine, governance and economic power. Despite the little achievements of his life, he remains committed to capacity development through training and practical engagements in leadership, community and people development. He is a young man we should watch out for, and with better training and mentorship, we can only imagine the wonder and transformation he would have caused to this generation.
