Millennium Fellowship Project: Addressing Unemployment through Entrepreneurship

My project focuses on addressing unemployment by sharing my entrepreneurial journey and encouraging others to explore business opportunities. I've been an entrepreneur since a young age, starting with selling juice and saving money to buy toys and surprise bags. While at the University of Lagos, I began selling chinchin to classmates. It started with just a small batch, but when people kept asking for more, I saw it as a chance to build a business. Later, I expanded to selling sweet snacks when I couldn’t find a particular brand of chinchin. This business not only helped me support myself financially but also ignited my passion for entrepreneurship. Over time, I've guided fellow students, advising them to start their own businesses when they face financial struggles. I provide practical advice on how to get started and explain the benefits of entrepreneurship, such as financial independence and self-reliance. As part of my initiative, I plan to host sessions during the program to educate and inspire students about the advantages of entrepreneurship. These sessions will offer valuable insights on starting a business, providing students with the tools and motivation to take the entrepreneurial path and create their own opportunities.
