" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it offers a platform to turn ideas into action, creates an invaluable opportunity to connect with like-minded change makers, and amplify my work in promoting sustainable health and combating antimicrobial resistance for the well-being of future generations in no small measure. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: AMR CAMPUS and COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN

My project is about helping young people understand the dangers of misusing antibiotics and how simple habits, like good hygiene, can prevent infections. My team and I recently registered an awareness club in our school, called AMR UNILAG. I’m building on what I’i've been doing as a volunteer with DRASA’s AMR program, but this time I want to bring the message to my campus and nearby communities in a fun, relatable way.

About the Millennium Fellow

Oleka Evans Chibundu was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and is currently studying at the University of Lagos. As a curious and community-minded individual, Evans values empathy, integrity, and collaboration in all he does. He is deeply committed to advancing sustainable health and well-being, with a focus on curbing antimicrobial resistance through education and advocacy. His interest in One Health stems from a personal loss and a desire to connect science with real-world impact, fostering healthier relationships between humans, animals, and the environment. Outside academics, he enjoys exploring new ideas, engaging in meaningful conversations, and learning from diverse experiences that shape his vision for positive change.
