" The Millennium Fellowship serves as a unique platform for me to work with like-minded fellows to serve humanity with love and improve the lives of underserved communities. Even as someone new to impact projects, it allows me to learn and work with a team that brings diverse experiences, strengths, and skills, yet is united by a common goal "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Every Child Deserves to Learn
Every Child Deserves to Learn is a project led by Millennium Fellow
Runsewe Ololade Elizabeth, Millennium Fellow SOLARIN Temiloluwa Ibukunoluwa, Millennium Fellow Sogunwa Deborah Boluwatife, and Millennium Fellow Onasanya Oluwafolakemi Esther collaborate with a local orphanage home to provide quality education and promote good health among its residents. We will design a customized curriculum and conduct regular classes, supplemented with monthly health workshops and medical outreach programs.
Measurable Goals (August-December 2025):
1. Education:
- Conduct bi-weekly classes for 3 months, reaching a minimum of 20 students.
- Achieve a 50% increase in students' knowledge retention, measured through baseline and end-line assessments.
2. Health:
- Organize 3 health workshops, focusing on basic hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Provide medical check-ups and health screenings for at least 50% of the orphanage's residents.
3. Impact:
- Improve students' overall well-being and self-confidence, measured through surveys and feedback sessions.
- Increase community engagement and awareness about the importance of quality education and healthcare for vulnerable populations.
About the Millennium Fellow
Oluwafolakemi Onasanya is a student of Medicine at the University of Lagos. Currently in her second year of medical school, she has realized how much she has grown and changed over the short time she has spent in medical school. Her passions, though expressed in various interests, have always remained the same: becoming an expression and extension of love that can be physically felt, seen, and experienced by the vulnerable parts of society—especially children and families from low-income homes.
She aspires to be a pediatrician someday, providing good health and ensuring favourable wellbeing among children, which is in line with Sustainable Development Goal 3. Worried about the recent brain drain of doctors in Nigeria, she cannot help but wonder how much of a blow this will deal to the vulnerable demographic in the country. She hopes to create free and affordable healthcare for Nigerians, especially children.
While still new to impact and social projects—and knowing that her long-term goal might take time—she hopes to start small yet meaningfully, revolving around her common goal of expressive love for mankind. She looks forward to beginning her impact journey through the Millennium Campus Fellowship.
