University of Lagos | Lagos, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 4, SDG 10 & UNAI 9

" Having a solid structure to achieve all my goals and creating impact in my society. Similarly,I've had this dream of giving access to the children in the area I grew up who didn't have access to books, and who are being told that their arts dreams don't matter. All these are why I do the things I do, to reduce the gentrification of arts and build people who would make our world better. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: My Artsy Space
This initiative seeks to foster a culture of reading, creativity, and intellectual engagement among children aged 7 to 16 in our community. By establishing a reading club and creative workshops, we aim to provide inclusive and equitable opportunities for children to access books, explore the arts, and develop critical thinking skills.
This project directly contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting literacy and lifelong learning, while also supporting SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by ensuring access to cultural and educational resources for all children, regardless of background.
About the Millennium Fellow
Zaynab Adesina is a bright law student at the University of Lagos who is keen on creating social change and making impact wherever she is. Due to that, she's a spoken word artist who uses her voice to advocate for social justice, especially women's rights and protection of the poor. She's looking for a suitable and more coordinated platform to help sustain that, which is why she wants to provide her own contribution to the United Nations sustainable goal. She aspires to be like the new ambassador for peace for the United nations, Alhan Islam. She shares certain similarities with her, a major one which is being born in the rural part of Africa with big dreams to make solid impact and leave a mark in the world.
