" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it gives me a platform to turn my passion for education, social impact, and community service into tangible change. I do the work I do because I believe that every small act of service can spark a ripple of transformation, and I want to be part of building that brighter future. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Navigating Life After Secondary School

“Navigating Life After Secondary School” is a project focused on building all-encompassing excellence through literacy, mentorship, and skill development, empowering learners to thrive academically, morally, and socially in today’s evolving world.

The project targeted senior secondary school students in the Tanke axis of Ilorin, supporting them as they prepared for academic transitions, examinations, and future career pathways. At the start of the Fellowship, the goal was to reach at least 40 students through mentorship sessions focused on exam preparation, discipline, goal-setting, and understanding subject–career alignment.

By the end of the Fellowship, over 70 students across two senior secondary classes were reached. Interactive sessions provided practical strategies for handling academic pressure, improving study habits, selecting the right subjects, and connecting education to future opportunities. Many students became more confident discussing their interests, asking clearer questions about career choices, and understanding the importance of discipline and consistency.
