" "I am excited to be a part of the Millennium Fellowship because it offers a unique platform to amplify my passion for climate action and sustainability. This fellowship will equip me with the skills and global network needed to drive meaningful change in underrepresented communities. Through this experience, I hope to deepen my impact by connecting innovative solutions with environmental advocacy, in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals." "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Climate Leads

My project, Climate Leads, was targeted at secondary school students with the aim of raising awareness about climate action and empowering them to be part of the solution. In September, I visited Anglican Grammar School, Ilorin and Bishop Smith Memorial College, Ilorin to educate the students on environmental and climate issues specific to Nigeria.
To deepen their engagement, I organized a climate-focused competition titled "Naija Solutions for a Greener Future", which took place on November 6. Students from both schools participated and were given the question: “What simple idea or invention can be used to solve environmental problems in Nigeria?”
The project wasn’t just about teaching climate facts — it was about sparking innovation, critical thinking, and a sense of responsibility in young people. Through education and creative problem-solving, the goal was to help students see themselves as active change makers in the fight against climate change.
