United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

My work in women’s health and sustainability is driven by a deep desire to empower communities and improve access to equitable healthcare. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Menstrual Equity

The title of my project is Menstrual Equity. This project will involve my team members and I going to different schools to educate the girl child on personal hygiene and also on the use of menstrual pads during menstruation. The project will be self-funded but likewise, we will solicit for funding from individuals and organizations who are ready to donate to promote the aim of our project.

About the Millennium Fellow

Maimunat Adewunmi is a passionate 3rd-year medical student at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. Born and raised in Abuja, she is deeply interested in women’s health, research, and sustainable development. She has actively participated in community health and public awareness programs in Kwara State, where she contributed to promoting preventive healthcare and awareness on pressing health issues. She aspires to advance women’s healthcare and contribute to global health equity through advocacy, research, and innovative solutions.
