Millennium Fellowship Project: Women in Tech Mentorship Platform

Project: Women in Tech Mentorship Platform Problem: Many young women interested in tech don’t have role models or guidance to help them navigate careers in fields like coding, engineering, data science, etc. Solution: A free online platform where female students and early-career professionals can connect with experienced women in tech for mentorship. Think of it like a "big sister" program, but for tech careers. How It Works: 1. Sign Up: Mentees (students/junior professionals) and mentors (industry women) create profiles. 2. Match: The platform pairs them based on interests (e.g., AI, web development, cybersecurity). 3. Support: They meet monthly via video calls or chats to discuss career advice, skills, and challenges. Why It Matters: - Helps women build confidence, networks, and job opportunities in male-dominated fields. - No cost, no jargon—just real people helping each other grow. Example: A college student learning coding gets tips from a software engineer at Google on how to land her first internship. Goal: Bridge the gender gap in tech by making mentorship accessible.
