University of Ilorin | Ilorin, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 3, SDG 4 & UNAI 6

" I want to be a Millennium Fellow because I believe in the power of collaboration. My experience in the pharmacy student representative council has shown me that working with like-minded individuals and exchanging ideas can lead to impactful results. The Fellowship will connect me with change makers who share a passion for social change, providing resources and mentorship to scale my Pad Safety Project, which improves reproductive health for young women and girls. It will help me grow as a leader, turning my weaknesses into strengths and enabling me to create meaningful, lasting impact in my community and beyond. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Girl Thrive
The Girl Thrive Project is an awareness and empowerment program that centers on Menstrual Health, Mental health and Career awareness. It targets female secondary school students in Kwara state between the age of 13 and 19. These are young girls who are just beginning to navigate puberty, identity, confidence, and their early dreams yet many of them do so with limited information and very little guidance.
We serve them because we believe that girls deserve more than silence around their bodies, more than shame around menstruation, and more than fear around their futures. We want them to feel seen, heard, and equipped to thrive in their body, mind, and future.
Key metrics for accomplishment 1. Created awareness about menstrual health and Career awareness.
2. Encourage a more open engagement on menstrual and reproductive health.
