" I am so excited because this is more than an achievement, it is a platform for me to grow, collaborate, and create real impact and changes in my community.
It also brings me closer to one of my key goals which is advancing SDG 13 – Climate Action.
I am passionate about protecting our planet and inspiring others to take action, and I look forward to using this fellowship to turn ideas into lasting change. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Climate and your Health

The climate and your health' project generally is a programme that aims to sensitise , educate, and mitigate us on our actions and how it brings about the negative changes in the climate and how we can prevent this so as to bring about quality living. Statistics show that by 2050 ,deaths from yellow fever in africa could increase by up to 25% under the worst climate scenarios. The WHO estimates 800,000 people die from the effects of air pollution as it contributes to respiratory diseases. Thus, this project is intended to sensitise and educate the general public on 1. The whole concept of the 'CLIMATE' 2. The role climate plays in our ecosystems. 3. The effects of our actions on the climate 4. Roles they need to play to mitigate climate changes My project is linked to SDG 3, which is good health and wellbeing as it also targets the health impacts of climate change and measures to be taken to prevent the negative effect on our health. Likewise, this project is connected to SDG15, which is life on land as it also focuses on making the ecosystem habitable and sustainable for incoming generations.
