" I'm mostly excited to be part of the Millennium Fellowship because I know that I'll work with various people with various smart ideas and that alone will enable me to gain new skills, but not only that, it will also allow me to sharpen my already existing skills. And I think working together with others is an exciting way to get things done because teamwork makes the dream work. I know that all I'll learn from others will help me grow further in life. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Mental Health Project

Our project is a comprehensive student-led project designed to address the critical and growing mental health challenges on campus. History and observation show that students are significantly affected by issues like depression, anxiety, and stress, exacerbated by factors such as academic pressure, poverty, and relationship difficulties (heartbreak). As it stands, we have lost over 5 students to suicide hence the urgent need of this project.

Our multi-faceted approach includes awareness campaigns (seminars, posters), creative expression events (Mind & Mic Open Night), direct peer-to-peer outreach (door-to-door), and the establishment of a sustainable online support platform.
Our mission is to create a university environment where mental health is openly discussed, support is readily available, and no student feels alone in their struggle.

We extended our project to secondary school students to spread awareness of mental health and to prepare them for career choices and university life so as to minimize stress in University.
