" "the knowledge that I will be getting from Millennium Fellowship will help me to achieve my work with Great success. As I have indicated on the previous page that my duty is to make sure that most of the learners are able to go to university, Millennium Fellowship will provide skills to me to address issues in a professional way.an individual can have a big dream but without someone or group of people to fuel it, nothing can be achieved. This is why being the member of Millennium Fellowship will be a great opportunity to me and my project. Millennium Fellowship Project: Mindful Campus Initiative
Our project is a comprehensive student-led project designed to address the critical and growing mental health challenges on campus. History and observation show that students are significantly affected by issues like depression, anxiety, and stress, exacerbated by factors such as academic pressure, poverty, and relationship difficulties (heartbreak). As it stands, we have lost over 5 students to suicide hence the urgent need of this project.
Our multi-faceted approach includes awareness campaigns (seminars, posters), creative expression events (Mind & Mic Open Night), direct peer-to-peer outreach (door-to-door), and the establishment of a sustainable online support platform. Our mission is to create a university environment where mental health is openly discussed, support is readily available, and no student feels alone in their struggle.
We extended our project to secondary school students to spread awareness of mental health and to prepare them for career choices and university life so as to minimize stress in University.
