" "Leadership, networking, and collaborative team effort are highly essential for my career. Being a Millennium Fellow gives me the opportunity to build and develop myself in these areas. The experience and skills that I gain from the Millennium Fellowship will help make and position me to be a better healthcare worker. I look forward to gaining more so that I can also give more.” "

Millennium Fellowship Project: THE SAFEMIND INITIATIVE

Mental Health Advocacy and Awareness is a project focused on promoting mental health education among secondary school students across Osun State. The initiative empowers students with knowledge and practical strategies to support their mental well-being. During implementation, the project successfully reached its initial goals, providing students with tools to understand and care for their mental health. Additional resources are needed to expand outreach and reach more schools across the state.

About the Millennium Fellow

Ajala Oluwadarasimi Eniola is an inquisitive and creative medical student. She loves to read, travel, cook, and write. She was born in western Nigeria but raised in the north. Right from her childhood, Oluwadarasimi has been passionate about healthcare and all that it entails. Being a Nigerian who currently resides in the country, she has seen and experienced first hand how the Nigerian healthcare system has declined over the years. This has not only shaped her view about the need for proper and adequate health education and care, it has also been a drive for her career and academic choices.
