University of Uyo | Uyo, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 3 & UNAI 6

" The Millennium Fellowship being a UN-recognized program would be a platform to ease the execution of some of my plans towards proper health education as it offers some form of credibility and recognition.
Places
and materials I couldn't access easily working on
my own would be much easier to access.
In addition to this, I can be able to connect with
other individuals passionate about making an
impact in the society and from here I can get the opportunity to learn from
more experienced people,maintain a drive
towards my project and still be properly
accountable.
I could also gain more insights and ideas on working to make a more sustainable impact. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Generation Zero
Generation zero is a project that aims at reducing the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Akwa Ibom over the next coming generations through a public awareness system that targets secondary school students. This helps bridge child-parent communication gap as some parents in our community find it uncomfortable discussing sex-related subjects with their children. Generation zero helps educate these children early before they become sexually active so that they can form the right attitude, behavior and mindset toward safe sex practice that will be sustained for long, having lasting impact on the next generation. Also, these students can help spread the awareness beyond the walls of their schools through peer influence. The project will span over a period of four months, when we will be visiting two secondary schools to sensitize the student and help them create a HIV/AIDS awareness club that will ensure the continuity of this awareness beyond the four months.
About the Millennium Fellow
Divine Evans is a doctor in training, specifically in 500L at the university of Uyo teaching hospital He was born and brought up in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom state but had his secondary education at Calabar where he met with people from different states across the country with different aspirations. He has always been interested in the health sector because while growing up he had several bouts of illnesses that had him on admission for most of his childhood.
During the times of hospital admission, he saw some people loss their loved ones, the pains they had to go through and all of that.
Even though he made it through all the health challenges, it still left a scar in his mind and this prompted some determination to try to reduce some of this by acquiring knowledge in medical training.
He's passionate about medicine and does his best to apply himself to get the skills and knowledge needed to achieve his Goals .
He's also a committed Christian, committed to the service of God and bringing glory to God 🙏 He loves teaching and passing knowledge. He also loves music and organizing things.
Which is one of the reasons he grouped with his peers to contribute in this years UN SDGs
