Millennium Fellowship Project: Mental Health; Effects on the Medical community.
This project focuses on creating awareness about mental health, addressing the stigma around it, and helping people clearly understand what mental health means before encouraging them to care for it.
A three-day webinar was organized on the effects of mental health on the medical community, including practical solutions and shared experiences on how to manage mental health challenges. The project serves the medical community, including doctors, medical students, and other medical professionals, and helps them understand that medicine is not always easy and that mental health is essential to sustaining the profession and personal well-being.
About the Millennium Fellow
Amina Jibrin Tafida is a young, ambitious 5th year medical student. She's quite shy and deeply introverted but lately she has been trying to break out of her bubble and put herself out there. She likes to listen to music, loves reading fictional books and she's also a baker who runs her little bakery from home, alongside medical school. For a while since she came to school, she has mostly focused on academics until she realised that she wanted to do so much more that than. So she has been taking steps that will enable her do more and make her impact in the world in her own small way. She has grown so much from the girl she used to be before coming to medical school and she looks forward to more growth and is excited to for what's next.
