" Being a Millennium Fellow will give me the necessary platform in contributing immensely to my society. It will help me align with more students and non-students who share the same goals and are passionate about impacting in the society. Addressing the root cause of some social issues will be made easy because I’ll learn to improve my communication skills and practical skills through the fellowship and also I will be involved in more projects that will be impactful to the society.
Personally helping people is something I am very passionate about hence having a happy and healthy society will also keep me very happy.
I am excited being a Millennium Fellow because will make me an eligible candidate to work with reputable NGOs "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Health Renaissance
This project is basically a two in one project. This project is basically aimed at providing quality health care to people living in rural area. Because of financial constraints a lot of persons living in rural areas such as villages are unable to have access to proper medical care and as a result of this they settle for what they can afford which is herbal medications. I'm not against herbal medications but some of them do more harm than good, sometimes these treatments worsen the condition of the person. Most persons who suffer the adverse effects of these herbal treatments, report late to the hospital and sometimes they don't even report to the hospital at all, and this increases the mortality rate in such areas. In summary, asides providing quality medical care to people in these areas, through this I will also enlighten them on the benefit of having quality medical care and cut cost of medical services.
