" I made this vow willingly and wholeheartedly, driven by the compassion in my heart. Helping the less privileged and being kind in general comes naturally to me and brings me immense joy. Becoming a Millennium Fellow excites me because I know this opportunity will not only strengthen my skills but also expand the scale and depth of my impact, enabling me to touch more lives and contribute more meaningfully to a positive change. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: CareSphere Project
This project is a combination of several individual initiatives aimed at improving community well-being and student support. It includes HIV testing and education to raise awareness and help individuals know their status, support group sessions to promote mental health awareness, student aid programs particularly for foreign students, and visits to the local homeless shelter to provide assistance and engagement. By integrating health education, emotional support, and social outreach, the project addresses multiple community needs, empowers participants with knowledge and resources, and fosters a culture of care, inclusion, and support within both student and local communities.
About the Millennium Fellow
Ngozi Chinweotuto Samuel is a bright, kind, hardworking and compassionate 5th year medical student. She was born in Nigeria, resided in Ukraine but due to the war, has now transferred to the University of Novi Sad in Serbia. Coming from a developing country, she has witnessed firsthand the struggles of the poor and less privileged, fostering a deep sense of empathy and compassion from an early age. She made a personal vow to help and advocate for those in need, no matter how small the contribution. Upon entering university, she finally had the chance to act on that vow through outreach programs, financial and material donations, and by dedicating her time to connect with and support vulnerable communities. She views this Millennium Fellowship opportunity as a stepping stone to build her skills and guide her to do bigger and better things in future, thereby contributing meaningfully to the advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Goals.
