" "Those who are happiest, are those who do the most for others. Being a Millennium Fellow doesn't only bring forward a greater platform to help others, it also brings about interactions with like minded individuals. Making it easier for one who is passionate about speaking out for others, one's self and acting upon it to make positive impact, to flourish." "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Vineyard Literacy Center

The Vineyard Literacy Center is a library I started at The Vineyard Bible Church. This library is a collection of different sorts of books just like any other library. This project started November 2023, were I got some donations from the general public in form of books. Nevertheless, the church also made a donation of a collection books written by Dag Heward-mills. This act boosted the library considering the fact that there ain't any schools with libraries in the area. At this library, only church members have the privilege to go home with a book and return it the next Sunday. All other readers who are not part of the church enjoy the liberty to read the books at the library, but are not allowed to leave with any.

About the Millennium Fellow

Fortune Tembo is a young, passionate student who is eager to make social impact globally. Born and raised in Zambia, he is currently studying Mining Engineering at The University of Zambia. Despite being an engineering student, Fortune's love for advocacy for the voiceless and ignorant has greatly impacted his will to help others. For his want to see that everyone gets an education, Fortune kick started a small community library at his church of worship to equip the young people of the community with knowledge, and skills. In the future, he is eager to be given an opportunity where he can advocate for social impact at a higher level, shading the light of the lows he has observed.
