" Being a Millennium Fellow means that I not only get to access skills and mentorship that will help me push my agenda, but I also get access to a community that equally believes in good and fairness. Having people who, in one way or another, think like me, on a grand scale of making change in the world, is thrilling as it makes me believe that humanity is not all lost. Making change with people who care on the same level! What a dream that is! "

Millennium Fellowship Project: gifTech

My project aims to make technology accessible to a specific area I have identified, Kariunga, where there is a clear divide in technical skills among the local population. The key mission is to equip and build their minds to view the world as an endless place of possibilities where their dreams are never too wild, especially with the knowledge of different skills they can use to build themselves economically.
My target audience is the youth group in this area, between 18-29 yrs who are eager to learn and aspire to make a way for themselves in life.

About the Millennium Fellow

Celine Gathoni Thea is a young aspiring student in the heart of Kenya. Born and raised in Kenya, she has consistently proven the odds over the years managing to secure a spot in one of the most competitive degrees at the country’s leading university; Bachelor of Economics, University of Nairobi. Though social sciences are just one of the many passions she carries, she has a deep longing for technology and the impact it brings to lives. This pushed her to working in various community projects, the outcome of both prompting her to explore more ways of enhancing education through technology.
