Millennium Fellowship Project: MindCare for Educators

MindCare for Educators is an initiative designed to empower teachers with the skills to identify, support, and refer students struggling with mental health challenges. Many students exhibit early signs of psychological distress that often go unnoticed in school settings, simply because teachers are not trained to recognize them. This project bridges that gap by offering practical mental health awareness training, referral guidance, and ongoing support to educators.
The goal is to ensure that teachers become confident first responders who can detect red flags early, initiate compassionate conversations, and link students to appropriate mental health resources. By strengthening the connection between classrooms and mental health care, MindCare for Educators promotes Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being and Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.
Ultimately, the project aims to create safer, more supportive school environments where students’ emotional needs are recognized and addressed promptly — enabling them to learn, grow, and thrive.
