Millennium Fellowship Project: A Mind Heals, an Environment is Saved
A Mind Heals, an Environment Is Saved
This project, led by Millennium Fellow Lenox Oyanga, is focused on mental health literacy and environmental awareness. We aim to provide accessible education to communities in and around Nairobi.
Through our initiative, we will:
* Increase understanding of mental health conditions and effective coping strategies.
* Combat misconceptions and stigma surrounding mental illness.
* Integrate environmental education to highlight the link between a clean environment and a healthy mind.
Our goal is to foster both individual well-being and a healthier, more sustainable community.
About the Millennium Fellow
Lenox oyanga is a Bachelor of arts in psychology at the University of Nairobi in Kenya. He was born in Kakamega county in western region of Kenya. He attended a local primary in their village, this is where his leadership skills started being evident, he led in certain dockets during his primary education; head of debates and sanitation. He joined Musingu boys high school in 2018, for his secondary education, at high school too, lenox continued to so the drive to lead and represent others, and in his second year he was elected as an assistant school president. In this field he performed well and was a good bridge between the students and the school management. In 2022, after performing exceptionally excellent in high school exams, he managed to achieve a breakthrough to the University of Nairobi. In the University lenox's developed an new leadership passion, the urge to lead and let the globe know his impact. He started taking part in conversation online about global matters, waste management, poverty crisis and health issues from links on linkedin. He has shown exceptional skills of confidence, outstanding ideas, project management and leadership. From online it turned out that he got some contacts that helped him to get to physical meetings of youths who are also making a global impact. He attended a meeting about #localizingthepactforthefuture by united nations in November 2024 among many other forums.
He is always eager to learn and always looking forward to better results from what he does. He is a goal-oriented individual and problem-solving focused leader.
