Millennium Fellowship Project: Drops of Hope
Drops of hope. This is a project that seeks to ensure constant and sustainable clean water for Kenyans. It is sad to note that a lot of people in Kenya do not have access to clean, sustainable and regular water supply. The project focuses especially on communities living in rural or refugee areas in Kenya. Moreover, the project focuses on making water safe for all. This will eradicate water borne diseases in Africa such as typhoid and cholera, that have proven to be a thorn in the country for years on end.
About the Millennium Fellow
Leonel Mwaniki Mureithi is a young, vibrant, optimistic, and globally competitive leader who has just completed his undergraduate law studies at the University of Nairobi. He was born in a village in Kenya called Juja. He resides in Nairobi, where he is constantly on the lookout for greener pastures that will greatly aid him and the community he so dearly loves. Since time immemorial, he has been a UN advocate for change and a believer in the SDGs. He has been a very vibrant member of the Kenya Model United Nations, where he has been very dedicated, serving in the positions of Director of KMUN Foundation and Head of Strategy. Thanks to this beautiful opportunity, Leonel can finally achieve his long life dream, which is to make an impact on his community.
