" My critical thinking, courage, resilience, and communication skills fuel my stand against injustice, gender inequality, and corruption. I envision a world where justice prevails, equality is upheld, and integrity is the norm. Being part of the Millennium Fellowship will not only strengthen these skills through collaboration but also help me create a more tangible social impact in schools and communities, aligned with the UNAI principles and the SDGs.
Being selected as a Millennium Fellow is a dream come true, it’s global recognition of my passion for creating change, my commitment to social impact, and my drive to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals. I am excited to imagine and design new ways of learning and creativity that can inspire lasting transformation. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Justice Matters NG: Peace, Justice, Strong Institutions
The Justice Matters NG Initiative is committed to protecting the fundamental human rights of Nigerians, as guaranteed by the Constitution and the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015. Our project focuses on addressing the widespread violation of the 48-hour rule, which prohibits detaining individuals without due process beyond 48 hours.
We aim to achieve this by partnering with local human rights organizations to provide pro bono legal support to victims of unlawful detention. In addition, we will empower citizens through public education campaigns that raise awareness of their rights, enabling them to identify and challenge illegal arrests and detention practices. By combining legal aid with grassroots awareness, The Justice Matters NG Initiative seeks to strengthen access to justice, uphold the rule of law, and advance Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions in Nigeria.
