United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Sweet serenity bakery

Sweet Serenity Bakery aims to provide high-quality, affordable cakes for all occasions, serving my community with love and care. As a passionate baker and decorator, I'm dedicated to sharing my skills with jobless individuals, empowering them with new opportunities for growth. Through hands-on baking and decorating training, I hope to positively impact my community and contribute to its development. My goal is to not only provide delicious treats but also foster a sense of purpose and belonging among my trainees. By offering genuine and authentic services, I strive to make a real difference in the lives of those around me. Sweet Serenity Bakery is more than just a bakery – it's a platform for growth, connection, and community building.

About the Millennium Fellow

Nsubuga Sakib is a University of the People student pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science with a keen interest in harnessing technology to drive innovation. Living in Uganda, Nsubuga Sakib dreams of becoming a computer software engineer while nurturing a passion for art. Nsubuga Sakib is currently running a thriving cakes business and plans to open a bakery soon, where creativity and culinary skills blend. Combining tech and art, Nsubuga Sakib aims to integrate advanced computer systems into the bakery business post-graduation, streamlining operations, enhancing customer experience, and blending creativity with technology. Through this fusion, Nsubuga Sakib hopes to build a unique business model that impacts the local community in Uganda.
