" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it grants me the opportunity to make real impact while building my confidence to transform my ideas into actions. The journey so far has already stirred in me the belief that what begins as a simple idea can grow into meaningful change and I see it as a stepping stone to greater work ahead. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Nurture and Learn

is an awareness and advocacy initiative focused on supporting student-mothers by advocating for safe and private spaces on campuses for breastfeeding and childcare. The project targets students who are also mothers. During the Millennium Fellowship, the project made significant progress by creating awareness, collecting real stories from student-mothers as advocacy evidence, and laying the foundation for long-term impact. Key accomplishments include developing the full advocacy concept, designing the Student-Mother Experience Form, conducting face-to-face interviews, creating the website structure and content, and setting up social media platforms for awareness and storytelling. Many student-mothers welcomed the project and were willing to share their experiences. Lessons learned include the importance of careful planning to ensure long-term success, while future improvements will focus on earlier launches of the website and social media and reaching more student-mothers and stakeholders.
