Millennium Fellowship Project: CleanUP Champion Program

Our project was implemented at Samaritan’s Children’s Home and focused on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. The main objective was to promote a clean, safe, and healthy environment for the children living at the home.
We carried out activities such as cleaning the living areas, washing and sanitizing the sanitation facilities, and tidying the surrounding environment to ensure proper hygiene and reduce health risks caused by poor sanitation. Through this initiative, we aimed to raise awareness among children and caregivers about the importance of cleanliness, safe water, and environmental care.
By the end of the project, the children’s home environment was cleaner and more conducive to healthy living, supporting the well-being and dignity of the children who depend on the facility

About the Millennium Fellow

Steve KWIZERA, As a student of International Business Administration at United States International University-Africa, concentrating on management, I am passionate about leading people, solving complex business challenges, and contributing to global growth through strategic decision-making. What drives me most is the opportunity to create a meaningful impact by helping organizations operate efficiently and ethically across borders.
My interest in management arises from a desire to understand how teams and systems operate, and how leadership can inspire performance and innovation. I enjoy bringing people together, setting goals, and motivating others to achieve shared visions. The dynamic nature of international business, where culture, strategy, and economics intersect, fascinates me and aligns with my ambition to work in diverse, cross-cultural environments.
Alongside academic knowledge, I place great value on soft skills that enhance my leadership potential. Effective communication, emotional intelligence, adaptability, and problem-solving are among my greatest assets. These skills not only allow me to collaborate across teams and cultures but also enable me to navigate challenges with resilience and empathy.
Through my studies and personal growth, I am preparing to become a well-rounded global leader, one who is committed to ethical management, innovation, and sustainable development.
