UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT ADI SINGH, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2025.
University of Toronto | Toronto, Canada | Advancing SDG 6 & UNAI 9

" I believe that as an engineering student, one always strives to apply technical skills to impact those most in need. The Millennium Fellowship will allow for a direct pathway to understand how to apply my ideas with regard to the UN SDGs, which would help me focalize my concepts and ideas towards a methodical approach that would also ensure that the global imperatives are being tackled. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Water 'Bachao' (Protect Water) Project
The ‘Water Bachao’ or Protect Water project was created in response to the
deadly and devastating floods impacting millions in the Sindh province of
Pakistan and resulted in concerns regarding potable water and water sanitation. The focus is to create a filtration system that is portable and inexpensive to provision to communities in dire need of receiving clean and potable water. However, a secondary goal of the project is to ensure that a potential canal project being advanced by the Pakistani government which would redirect water away from the Sindh region and the delta does not proceed given the already reduced supply of water for the people of the region and the need to invest more in increasing water delivery to communities, which this canal would curtail. This aligns with primarily with the Clean Water and Sanitation goal outlined by the UN.
