" The Millennium Fellowship offers guidance, support, and most importantly, a sense of community. Community fosters purpose and meaning, uniting us in our efforts to create lasting impact. My vision is to expand access to education, because knowledge empowers individuals to shape brighter futures. I am honored to be a Millennium Fellow and excited to contribute to meaningful change that extends far beyond myself. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Changing Healthcare Disparities Through Education
This project involves creating a children’s book about dentistry to educate children in underserved areas who lack proper access to healthcare. The target audience includes children in these communities. During the Millennium Fellowship, the project developed through brainstorming and careful planning, resulting in a story about two children visiting the dentist. The book teaches the importance of oral healthcare and helps children understand that visiting the dentist is a positive and essential part of their lives. Through this process, the project gained valuable insights into how children perceive dental visits and how to support them in building healthy habits and reducing fear of dental care.
