" "Every vital system used to support life, such as healthcare, is a composite of careers worth of knowledge, pools of exhaustion, and years worth of interactive discussion. The Millennium Fellowship will help me develop the skills to better understand those complexities, and how to be a real force for change within those systems. I will then apply these skills to situations where I can positively affect patient outcomes. " "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Poetry with Purpose

Poetry with Purpose is a non-profit that helps connect our San Antonio community to other nonprofits by organizing spoken word poetry events that raise funds and awareness for those non-profits. This creates a positive cycle of change, and shows that "Spoken Word (poetry) can change a broken world".

About the Millennium Fellow

Ellison Morgan is an aspiring health administration and public health student at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He was born and raised in San Antonio Texas, where he has established many deep connections and has been able to understand the complexity of healthcare inequalities throughout the city during his hundreds of hours of volunteer service at hospitals. He wants to use his life to change some of these inequalities and create an even playing field for all patients. He have taken on many leadership positions throughout his time in high school, and his first complete year of college, and wants to use the lessons he's learned in these positions to help contribute meaningfully to the United Nations Sustainable Goals.
