UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT JEEL CHANDAN, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2025.
University of Amsterdam | Amsterdam, Netherlands | Advancing SDG 10, SDG 4 & UNAI 7

" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it brings together a global community of young change makers who are passionate about creating a more just and sustainable world. I do this work because I believe that small actions, when shared across communities, can spark meaningful change and inspire others to take part in shaping a better future. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: New Horizons
The New Horizons Program is an initiative created to help immigrant children in Amsterdam adjust to their new surroundings. Our main goals are to promote a feeling of belonging and offer inclusive education. We hope to assist young kids in comprehending their rights, obligations, and the social systems they will encounter through engaging civil education exercises.
About the Millennium Fellow
Jeel Chandan is a passionate and globally minded Political Science student at the University of Amsterdam. Born in Munich and raised in cities such as Dublin, Vienna, Mumbai, and Amsterdam, Jeel has grown up with a strong appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives. Fluent in four languages, he thrives in international settings and is deeply committed to bridging cultural divides.
From an early age, Jeel has been dedicated to social engagement — whether through volunteering at children’s homes in India, coordinating community projects as a CAS representative, or serving as a student representative at the UvA. His experiences as a senior delegate and chair at Model United Nations conferences, where he won three Best Delegate awards, have strengthened his skills in diplomacy, leadership, and global cooperation.
Through the Millennium Fellowship, Jeel aspires to expand his advocacy for inclusive education and international collaboration, while contributing to the broader mission of advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
